Episode 35: Local cuisine using konjac [Kansai Edition] Doteyaki / Osaka
From now on, I'm curious about what local dishes use konjac, so I'd like to do some research.
First, I would like to introduce Osaka, where Nakao Food Industry is located.
When it comes to local Osaka cuisine that uses konjac, there is "doteyaki."
Doteyaki is simmered on a skewer, similar to kushikatsu, or simmered together with offal.
It is called doteni in various regions, but in Osaka it is more commonly known as doteyaki.
By the way, do you know the restaurant "Kushikatsu Doteyaki Takeda"?
This restaurant is located near Hirano Station in Osaka and has been popular with the general public for many years since it opened in 1970.
It is also famous for being the restaurant where Goro Inogashira, who was on a business trip to Osaka, stopped by in the first episode of the TV drama "The Solitary Gourmet ~Season 6~."
On the show, konjac skewered on a stick was simmered together in a pot of dote-ni.
Doteyaki is also popular as a snack to go with alcohol, so if you're interested, give it a try.
